Role Overview

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Akamai’s critical systems and services. You will work as part of a global SRE team, monitoring production environments, troubleshooting issues, and implementing automation to maintain platform stability.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, and operate network devices including Cisco and Juniper systems
Monitor production environments and respond to alerts promptly
Identify and implement platform improvements through automation and new technologies
Troubleshoot and support customer-facing and platform-related issues
Participate in on-call rotations with the SRE team
Collaborate with development teams to ensure reliable and scalable software delivery
Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and incident resolutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience with IPSec Site-to-Site VPNs (Juniper/Cisco)
Hands-on expertise with Routing, Switching, Data Center, and Service Provider technologies: BGP, ISIS/OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, LDP, RSVP, MPLS
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python or Ansible
Familiarity with monitoring tools: OpenNMS, Nagios, Grafana
Knowledge of firewalls: Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX
Basic troubleshooting skills for Linux and Windows environments
Mobility or Telco experience is a plus but not mandatory
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment
