Cuculus is hiring a System Engineer in Bengaluru to support and manage enterprise-scale cloud and on-premises infrastructure. This role focuses on Kubernetes-based application support, cloud environment management, HA & DR deployments, and SLA-driven operations for large Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects in the utilities domain.
Role Overview
As a System Engineer at Cuculus, you will be responsible for L2/L3 production support, cloud infrastructure operations, Kubernetes troubleshooting, and project deployments across cloud and on-prem environments. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure high availability, performance optimization, and SLA compliance for mission-critical utility systems.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Operations
- Provide L2/L3 technical support for application backends and cloud infrastructure issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Kubernetes cluster–based application environments.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve client-reported incidents within defined SLAs.
- Handle client interactions via calls and manage end-to-end incident workflows.
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to proactively prevent outages.
- Implement preventive measures, performance tuning, and system optimizations.
- Develop automation and operational scripts using Shell, Python, or similar languages.
Project Deployment & Implementation
- Design and plan network architecture and application architecture for new projects.
- Prepare cloud environments and deploy applications with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DC-DR) configurations.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
- Manage deployment and operations of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects, including monitoring and reporting platforms.
- Automate server-side and deployment operations to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure timely issue resolution to avoid SLA breaches during project execution.
Cloud & Infrastructure Management
- Deploy and manage VM-based cloud environments on AWS, Azure, Tata Cloud, NTT, or equivalent platforms.
- Monitor, optimize, and control cloud resource utilization and costs.
- Manage cloud IAM, RBAC policies, and user access controls.
- Create, configure, and maintain cloud resources as per enterprise project requirements.
- Design and deploy cloud networking components including VPCs, subnets, routing, and security rules.
- Maintain and support on-premises server and network infrastructure.
- Support UAT, staging, and pre-production environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster deployment, operations, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of Linux system administration and networking fundamentals.
- Experience in scripting and automation using Shell, Python, or similar languages.
- Understanding of High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and enterprise-scale architectures.
- Experience working in SLA-driven production support environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) systems.
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Experience in utility sector projects or large-scale infrastructure environments.
