Role Overview – Cloud Monitoring Engineer
As a Cloud Monitoring Engineer, you will be part of a proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) focused on preventing outages before they impact customers. Your mission is to ensure maximum availability, reliability, and performance of cloud-based, customer-facing B2B SaaS platforms.
This role goes beyond reactive support. You will work with advanced monitoring, observability, and cloud-native tooling to identify anomalies early, reduce downtime, and support FinOps-driven cloud environments across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You will collaborate globally with DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineers, and Product teams, gaining hands-on exposure to enterprise-scale SaaS and cloud financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Proactive Cloud Monitoring & Observability
- Monitor production and staging environments using Grafana, Kibana, and cloud-native monitoring tools.
- Proactively identify performance degradation, capacity risks, and system anomalies before customer impact.
- Perform 24x7 proactive monitoring aligned with global customer regions (North America, EMEA, APAC).
Cloud & Container Platforms
- Monitor and support workloads running on:
- AWS ECS, EKS
- Kubernetes & Docker
- Cloud-native databases (RDS and equivalents)
- Gain hands-on experience with production-grade SaaS environments.
Incident Management & Reliability
- Perform incident detection, categorization, logging, and response.
- Assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and service restoration.
- Improve alert accuracy and reduce Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering, and Product teams.
- Communicate system changes, upgrades, integrations, and improvements effectively.
- Support continuous improvements in monitoring coverage and alert quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 0–3 years of experience in cloud operations, NOC, monitoring, or technical support.
- Foundational knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native services.
- Basic experience or coursework in SQL.
- Understanding of application, system, and network monitoring concepts.
Professional Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn cloud and FinOps technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
Preferred Experience
- Prior exposure to SaaS companies or cloud service providers.
- Customer-facing technical support experience.
- Familiarity with FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or cloud financial governance.
- Experience working in 24x7 operational environments.
