Role Overview

Wolters Kluwer is seeking an Associate Cloud Engineer with expertise in Cloud Operations, Automation Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence to help build resilient, scalable, and intelligent cloud environments.

This role focuses on automation-first infrastructure, AI-enhanced workflows, and cloud-native architectures, enabling high system availability and operational efficiency. You will work closely with engineering teams to improve deployment frameworks, observability, and infrastructure lifecycle management.


Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Engineering

  • Manage and support AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Design and maintain IaaS, PaaS, and serverless architectures.
  • Support cloud migration projects including hybrid deployments.
  • Implement resilience, scaling strategies, and disaster recovery designs.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

  • Build automated infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and PowerShell DSC.
  • Manage Terraform state, configuration drift, and version-controlled infrastructure.
  • Develop automated provisioning pipelines for deployments.
  • Work with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and GitHub Actions.
  • Utilize Docker and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) for container orchestration.

DevOps & Cloud Operations

  • Manage the full infrastructure lifecycle — provisioning, patching, scaling, and decommissioning.
  • Troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and automate release processes.
  • Apply governance, compliance, tagging, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
  • Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Integrate services across multi-cloud environments (AWS + Azure).

AI & Intelligent Automation

  • Implement AI-driven automation for incident response and cloud optimization.
  • Develop Python-based AI scripts for predictive analytics and anomaly detection.
  • Integrate AI APIs for automated remediation and intelligent runbooks.
  • Work with AIOps platforms to enhance observability and performance.
  • Build lightweight ML models for event correlation and ticket classification.

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure.
  • Maintain near 100% system availability through proactive monitoring.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and SRE-driven optimization initiatives.
  • Promote automation-first and self-healing infrastructure practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in Cloud Operations, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Understanding of cloud networking, load balancing, IAM, and routing services.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Certifications

  • AWS or Azure Certifications
  • Terraform Associate
  • AI / Machine Learning certifications
