PW (PhysicsWallah) is hiring a DevOps Engineer (SDE 1) to support its growing infrastructure and platform engineering teams. This role is ideal for candidates who want to work on scalable systems, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps automation in a fast-paced tech environment.
You will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, developer productivity, and operational efficiency.
Role Details
Position: DevOps Engineer (SDE 1)
Location: Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 1 – 4 Years
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining infrastructure reliability, uptime, and high availability systems
- Support development of automation tools and DevOps workflows
- Reduce operational overhead using scripting and automation techniques
- Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and logging (observability systems)
- Work on infrastructure monitoring using industry-standard tools
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot issues and improve system performance
- Follow best practices for cloud security, deployments, and infrastructure operations
- Improve developer experience and deployment efficiency
Technical Skills Required
DevOps & Cloud
- 1–3 years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or similar providers
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
Containerization & Orchestration
- Strong knowledge of Docker containerization
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and cluster management
Monitoring & Observability
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, New Relic, or similar tools
- Understanding of logging, alerting, and system monitoring practices
Programming & Systems
- Proficiency in at least one language: Golang or Python (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Understanding of basic networking concepts and system design
Databases
- Working knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture
- Experience improving developer productivity through automation
- Knowledge of DevOps best practices and infrastructure optimization
